By downloading, installing, or using the HolyStops mobile application, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
HolyStops helps users discover, explore, and visit churches and sacred sites. Features include interactive maps, church information, opening hours, highlights, trip planning, offline city data, reports, achievements, and visit tracking.
User Accounts
Some features are available as a guest. Full use, including visit tracking, trip saving, and syncing across devices, may require an account. You are responsible for maintaining your account credentials and all activity under your account.
Location Services
HolyStops uses optional location permission to show nearby churches, provide directions and distance estimates, support proximity recommendations, and record visits at church locations. You can manage location permissions through device settings. Disabling location may limit app functionality.
Push Notifications
With your consent, HolyStops may send notifications about nearby churches, trip reminders, new content in selected cities, and construction or closure alerts. Notification preferences can be changed in app settings or device settings.
Free and Pro Plans
HolyStops offers a free tier and a paid Pro upgrade. Free users can browse the map and view basic church information. Pro users unlock additional features such as must-see highlights, detailed church information, trip tools, Pro filters, offline city downloads, and shareable stats cards.
The Pro upgrade is a one-time payment processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment terms are governed by the relevant store. Sales are final unless otherwise required by applicable law.
User Content
You may submit reports, ratings, trip notes, and other content. By submitting content, you grant HolyStops a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it within the app. You are responsible for your submitted content.
Prohibited Conduct
- Do not use HolyStops for unlawful purposes.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
- Do not interfere with app servers, networks, or service operation.
- Do not submit false or misleading information.
- Do not use unauthorized automated means to access the app.
Content and Data Sources
HolyStops aggregates publicly available information from various sources. Church images are linked from public online sources and are not hosted by HolyStops. Historical information may come from Wikipedia and other public resources. Third-party content remains owned by its respective owners.
Intellectual Property
HolyStops owns the app software, design, layout, and original content. These materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Disclaimer of Warranties
HolyStops is provided as is and as available without warranties. We do not guarantee that church information, opening hours, addresses, or historical details are accurate, complete, or current. Always verify important details independently before visiting a location.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HolyStops is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for claims related to these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and Contact
We may update these Terms by revising the last-updated date. Continued use of HolyStops after changes means acceptance of the revised Terms. Questions can be sent to support@holystops.app.
